This graphic treatment deliberately contrasts with the central figure of the mural: a realistically painted female colonist, wearing clothing inspired by that of the first settlers. Her gaze towards the horizon symbolises those who arrived in these lands to begin a new life and build their future.The scene continues beneath the words “Our roots leave their mark”, where a group of colonists can be seen arriving in Fuente Palmera, pushing and pulling a cart loaded with their belongings. Their journey takes them through cultivated fields towards the town, depicted in the background alongside some of its most recognisable architectural landmarks. The composition is completed by the phrase “We were born with the Fuero for harmony among peoples.”The colour palette also plays an important role in the narrative. Ochres, yellows, greens and earthy tones evoke the land and its crops, while blues and greys provide a visual reference to mining and the historical past of the surrounding territory. Branches and vegetation, historical documents, landscape, portraiture and illustration are interwoven to create a continuous and harmonious composition.Completed in just three days, the mural brings together different styles and techniques within a single artwork, paying tribute to the first colonists and remembering, more than two and a half centuries later, the roots upon which the identity of Fuente Palmera was built.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Los Colonos de Fuente Palmera es un mural de 20 x 4 metros que recorre los orígenes y la identidad de Fuente Palmera, remontándose a 1767, año de la fundación de las Nuevas Poblaciones de Sierra Morena y Andalucía durante el reinado de Carlos III y bajo la dirección de Pablo Antonio de Olavide.La composición comienza con la fecha 1767 y la frase «Historia, cultura y tradición de un pueblo que mira al futuro». Su mirada hacia el horizonte simboliza a quienes llegaron a estas tierras para comenzar una nueva vida y construir su futuro.La escena continúa bajo el lema «Nuestras raíces dejan huella», con un grupo de colonos avanzando con un carro cargado de pertenencias en su llegada a Fuente Palmera. El camino atraviesa campos de cultivo hasta conducir visualmente al pueblo, representado al fondo junto a algunos de sus elementos arquitectónicos más reconocibles. La composición se completa con la frase «Nacimos con el Fuero para la concordia de los pueblos».La paleta cromática también forma parte de la narración: ocres, amarillos, verdes y tonos tierra evocan el campo y los cultivos, mientras que los azules y grises introducen una referencia visual a la minería y al pasado de este territorio.
