The fire portrays both the destruction as well as the resurrection of the city following the eruption in 79 AD. The pearls in the bird's beak depicts a detail from an ancient mosaic discovered in Pompeii's House of the Faun. As an added detail, we can observe the necklace, which symbolises a link to the ancient missing “Musica”, an indigenous culture in Colombia, the artist's native country. Julian Santamaria, known as Santa Gross, is a Colombian illustrator and street artist. He's been working on illustration and painting on the streets for over 7 years. He has a distinctive style derived from the use of flat colors that create volumes enriched by contrasting shades and a halftone texture similar to screen printing which, combined with his illustration and compositional skills, achieves a particular style of muralism on large formats. Santa has created murals for both private commissions as well as well-known brands.","author_name":"Estera Balintfi - Pompei Street Festival","author_url":"https://streetartcities.com/users/ef6ae435-5ced-48cd-922b-d95ced4e714e","thumbnail_url":"https://streetartcities-production-media.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com/media/6/6e511aa9-f41d-44ef-8760-c828bdc96e0e/1024.jpg","thumbnail_width":1024,"width":480,"height":480,"html":"<iframe src=\"https://streetartcities.com/markers/4546be5b-9162-4cfb-80f7-d96838d1a265/embed\" width=\"480\" height=\"480\" style=\"border:none;border-radius:12px;max-width:100%;\" loading=\"lazy\" allow=\"fullscreen; storage-access\" title=\"“Ancient Bird from an Ancient Civilization” by Santa Gross\"></iframe>","cache_age":3600}
