The ‘Wallasey 78’ was a tram which used to run down Victoria Road and past the hotel. For this mural from local artist ‘Art by Alexander’, a fictional tram, ‘The Wallasey 79’ has been painted. It is sitting at the equally fictional stop of ‘Hope Street’ yet remembers the real route which ran nearby. Sitting inside are a few local famous faces. New Brighton’s founder James Atherton is portrayed as the conductor and local war hero Ian Fraser is shown sitting next to Wilfred Owen in the window.https://inspiringcity.com/2021/05/15/the-street-art-murals-of-new-brighton/","author_name":"Inspiring City","author_url":"https://streetartcities.com/users/c4d83141-dc19-4b74-9891-593b93d1d91f","thumbnail_url":"https://streetart.media/2/2749c85a-5af1-40fa-baea-1acb5a802842/1024.jpg","thumbnail_width":1024,"width":480,"height":480,"html":"<iframe src=\"https://streetartcities.com/markers/827e3f61-8f91-4859-933c-ed493c6b5e04/embed\" width=\"480\" height=\"480\" style=\"border:none;border-radius:12px;max-width:100%;\" loading=\"lazy\" allow=\"fullscreen; storage-access\" title=\"The Wallasey 79 by Art by Alexander\"></iframe>","cache_age":3600}
