The location quickly transformed into a central memorial site for grieving fans from all over Germany. Because the original wall on Zollstraße was overpainted and the area was being redeveloped, fans founded the non-profit association LP \"The Wall\" Germany e.V.. With official permission from the city of Essen, the memorial was relocated to Kaiser-Wilhelm-Park (Essen-Altenessen). Inside a historic, circular pavilion, David Landgraf created a brand new Memorial Wall which functions as both a musical tribute and a community hub for depression awareness. Weather and the passage of time took their toll on the pavilion. Plaster and paint peeled away, and a few untalented individuals armed with spray cans ensured that \"Chester's Wall\" disappeared, turning the pavilion into a blighted, unwelcoming spot.The pavilion in Kaiser Wilhelm Park has now finally after a long time been renovated using donations, and of course, the site again is adorned with a new, iconic portrait of Chester Bennington, spray-painted by David Landgraf.","author_name":"Andrea Ranke (streetartwalks)","author_url":"https://streetartcities.com/users/51f372c8-94ee-4e71-9262-bc43e92d4dc4","thumbnail_url":"https://streetartcities.com/media/a/ad195fab-7635-49c8-8cc4-c603ae97acee/1024.jpg","thumbnail_width":1024,"width":480,"height":480,"html":"","cache_age":3600}
