Between 1941 and 1944, the Düsseldorf-Derendorf freight station served as the main deportation hub for the region, where more than 6,000 Jewish citizens, Sinti, and Roma were crammed into cattle cars and sent to Nazi concentration and extermination camps. Today, a memorial site featuring an original piece of the historic tracks marks this place of tragedy.","author_name":"Andrea Ranke (streetartwalks)","author_url":"https://streetartcities.com/users/51f372c8-94ee-4e71-9262-bc43e92d4dc4","thumbnail_url":"https://streetartcities.com/media/3/37134788-76c3-4360-be84-28705a5dbb47/1024.jpg","thumbnail_width":1024,"width":480,"height":480,"html":"<iframe src=\"https://streetartcities.com/markers/cb600e22-a3c3-4ef3-86a3-cd89331f2c52/embed\" width=\"480\" height=\"480\" style=\"border:none;border-radius:12px;max-width:100%;\" loading=\"lazy\" allow=\"fullscreen; storage-access\" title=\"Cattle Car by BÄDBOY, Evelyn, MOH ONE\"></iframe>","cache_age":3600}
