Poorts (1986) got into graffiti through skateboarding and hip-hop, starting with letters and colour before expanding into cartoons and realistic figures. Both sides show here: drips and spray-can haze next to a portrait worked out down to the laugh lines. Rechts, tussen paarse theatergordijnen, schatert een man in paars pak met ronde bril en gele vlinderstrik het uit, trompet in de hand, terwijl muzieknoten over de muur zweven.De kleuren volgen de sfeer: koel groen en turquoise bij toneel en dans, warm roze en paars bij de muziek en het slotapplaus.De schildering is gemaakt door Pieter Poorts van Studio Stroop. Poorts (1986) kwam via skateboarden en hiphop bij graffiti terecht en begon met letters en kleur; later breidde hij zijn werk uit met cartoons en realistische figuren. Allebei zie je hier terug: druppels en spuitbuswolken naast een portret dat tot in de lachrimpels is uitgewerkt.
