MoS Belgium 26 by Alberto Cosis

Created for Meeting of Styles Belgium 2026, check the full map here.Meeting of Styles Belgium returned to Antwerp, artists from across the globe transformed more the urban arena at the Zomerfabriek in street art district Berchem, during an electrifying & scorching hot weekend of live painting, culture, and community at Meeting of Styles Belgium. Guided by this year’s theme, “Togetherness,” the artists turned collaboration into a visual language, blending styles, stories, and shared energy into one collective wall. This mural marks a milestone for Italian artist Alberto Cosis, who painted outside his home region for the first time during Meeting of Styles Antwerp. Coming from a small village in Lower Salento, Cosis is entirely self‑taught, developing a style rooted in black, geometric, three‑dimensional lettering that intentionally resists readability. In Antwerp, he pushed this evolution further: the piece blends sharp monochrome forms with curved, vibrant color fields that break free from the structure, creating a dynamic contrast between discipline and spontaneity. The idea for this wall struck him unexpectedly while working his day job as a school caretaker — a moment of intuition that led to a sketch and eventually to this composition. The mural reflects the duality central to his practice: geometric precision paired with imaginative, fluid shapes. Cosis aims to evoke serenity through harmony, letting colors soften the rigidity of his forms.Painting at MOS was a childhood dream finally realized. The Antwerp edition allowed him to meet artists he admired, discover new scenes, and take his first step into the international graffiti world. This wall stands as both a personal breakthrough and a celebration of graffiti’s global community.
