La ragazza di Lampedusa by Andrea Buglisi

Around the 1960s, the island gradually changed face: from a simple fishing village it became a renowned seaside tourist destination. In this mural in visual dialogue with the one made two years ago, I wanted to bring to light that time, which I did not experience directly, but which I feel is deeply mine. The girl portrayed, suspended between sky and sea is an ideal image, an imagined memory: she carries with her the simple and powerful grace of those years. She has her gaze turned towards an elsewhere that smells of freedom and summer promises.
