A Flying Toast In Bloom by Artista

The original Flying Toast design, created for a pop art inspired T-shirt for Tate Modern, and has developed into a distinctive icon by this Soho-based artist. Her surrealist cartoon style, rooted in New York lettering culture, is instantly recognisable and Belfast is lucky to have a few toasts flying about our streets. On the bottom left hand side of this piece you’ll see a portrait by Belfast artist Friz. It was painted as part of a street animation just before the festival and Artista liked it so much she built her piece around it instead of painting over it which was the original plan.@its.artista
