Artwork by Swed

For this project, the artist started by walking through the neighborhood in search of inspiration. He inhaled the air of the location and took in everything he saw. A multicultural society, many kids playing outside on the playgrounds scattered throughout the area, a lot of small redbrick houses in typical Dutch style. He also noticed the love for local football club Feyenoord, that houses no more then 10 minutes from this neighborhood. After a while his eyes were drawn to a balcony where a family stands, among a couple of Feyenoord flags. He spots a man, he would like to portrait on his assigned wall. The man agrees to have his picture taken, thereby becoming a part of this project.During painting, the artist never revealed who it was, that was being painted on a massive scale on this wall. Only when the wall was finished, he revealed that it was local resident Werner.
