Bleading Hearts by James Goldcrown

This mural at the corner of Uxbridge Street and Farmer Street, featuring colourful, spray-painted hearts, created in September 2025 by the artist James Goldcrown (known as @jgoldcrown), is part of the ‘Bleeding Hearts’ series and serves as a popular backdrop for selfies.James Goldcrown (also known as JGoldcrown) is a self-taught artist and photographer who has gained worldwide recognition thanks to his iconic murals, which are officially called the ‘Bleeding Hearts’ series (which begain in 2015), but are better known as the ‘Lovewall’.The distinctive heart motif actually came about by accident in his studio. Goldcrown simply used the shape of a heart to test the pressure and spray pattern of his spray cans. In February 2015, he was commissioned to paint a wall in New York. As it was almost Valentine’s Day, he decided to fill the wall with these layered, colourful hearts. He added the hashtag #lovewall. Within a few days, the mural went viral on Instagram and his international breakthrough was a reality.
