Tribute to Urban Horsemen by Jason Slowik, Keir Johnston

Completed: 2005This mural is a tribute to horses and rider of the present day moving through the old Philadelphia street. They used horses for their daily tasks - like haling milk and fruits. To create the design, the Cowboys and Cowgirls Association shared a collection of old photos with the painters of this mural. It depicts residents of the area and a Buffalo Solider from the old west. He represents the older generations who brought their skills and low for horses during their journey to the north and mentoring the youth.
