Skyward love by ELF

SKYWARD LOVEJust before I had to leave for @wallidia.festival in Albania, my mom passed away. It’s hard to describe what it feels like to be in deep grief while stepping into a space meant for creativity and connection. But instead of holding it all in, I decided to pour that pain into my work. This piece is for her. I used all the colors she was to me; bright, warm, bold, soft. She was every shade of love and strength I’ve ever known. I painted many birds, each one looking upwards toward the sky. They carry my sorrow, but also my hope. They’re symbols of her spirit; free, eternal, always in motion.Through every spraycan stroke, I held her close. This is how I mourn, and this is how I heal. The piece now has a place in Fushë-Arrës, and I was deeply moved by the response. People said it brought them joy, that it was vibrant and full of happiness. I never expected my grief to have such a bright reflection. But art has a way of transforming, doesn't it?
