“Ricordo” by Guido Palmadessa

”So usually the symbolic layers overlapping the portraits account for the mixture of languages, culture and identities that exist in our societies. Stars for me are also somehow speaking about dreams, sometimes future projections or the past. It does not have one meaning but I use them to have another layer with symbolic meanings that each can add to the artwork, I like to think that they are like a layer of thoughts, or language, and also sometimes just a decorative element.” – Guido PalmadessaGuido Palmadessa is a painter and muralist born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, currently living in Berlin, Germany. His works include paintings, drawings, and murals, going from oils on linen to large-scale public projects. Focused on the social component of art, Guido runs an art project for marginal neighborhoods in South America, painting in creatively needed contexts. His style is a mix of imagination, symbolism, and social reality – it’s all about the human condition. Traveling extensively, Guido’s art is a lens through which he sees the world, and he considers art a bridge that speaks to people and builds a sense of community. His public paintings can be seen in Portugal, Germany, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Mexico, Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina.
