Artwork by Han Coussement, Bart Proost

Every year, the City of Lommel brightens up one hamlet with a street art project. After Lommel center and Kerkhoven, it was now Heide-Heuvel's turn! A local team chose the location where the artworks will be installed and which artist will create the design. The only thing that is certain: the design breathes Lommel! As an artist and resident of Heide-Heuvel, the search for Lommel's DNA was not difficult for Bart Proost. “The design is based on the Heuvelse Heide, a beautiful nature reserve where I like to go for walks with the family. Because the mural is located at a meeting center for young and old, I especially wanted to create a family-friendly, cheerful and atmospheric mural. If you look closely, you can spot the 'big 5 of Bosland': the wild boar, the fox, the deer, the owl and... the wolf!”
