  <title>Der Fotograf - Photograoher by Christoph Pöggeler</title>
<description>Some of them have been perched up there since 2001, and their numbers have grown in the years since. However, the only thing these Düsseldorf "pillar saints" share with their religious namesakes is their elevated vantage point. The ten sculptures, which look down upon the public from atop Düsseldorf’s advertising pillars, are the work of artist Christoph Pöggeler. Through his pieces, he aims to draw attention to the individual; for this reason, he used ordinary people from everyday life as models — including a businessman, a photographer, a bride, a vacationer, a father with his son, and a homeless person. It is quite possible that Pöggeler’s pillar-top figures will eventually be joined by even more "saints."</description>
