It is the tallest mural in Pereira, but its significance goes beyond its physical scale: its true height lies in the symbolic force that inhabits it. Its saturated sepia palette embraces the architecture, evoking the stillness of a suspended moment where all forms of art find a place to meet, grow, and flourish.The mural unfolds as a poetic map in which faces, gestures, and bodies transcend physical matter and become vessels for the spirit that interprets the languages of the soul.The work is composed of two interconnected scenes, allowing it to be experienced both from a distance and at close range by pedestrians passing alongside it or entering the cultural center.In the upper scene, a child plays a saxophone. With every note, a flock of birds seems to emerge and take flight into the air, symbolizing freedom and inspiration. Behind the child, the iconic masks of theater appear, completing the atmosphere and alluding to the interdisciplinary nature of artistic practice and its power to stimulate creative thought.Further down, a young girl holds a transverse flute. From the serenity of her music, a bird comes to rest, suggesting the harmony between musical creation and nature.At the roots of the mural, an Afro-Colombian woman performs a traditional dance, grounding the work in the living memory of a people and revealing the enduring legacy of Pereira’s multicultural identity.
