La Halte Du Funambule by Popay

From afar, the wall seems covered by a giant mosaic or hidden under a rain of confetti. Getting closer, we see that this illusion is created by a myriad of coloured squares and rectangles. Popay used the mantel intelligently to make the work's name, La Halte (The Stop) stand out. The name refers to a small Liege theatre that was housed in the building embellished by this painting. The theatre closed its doors in 2019.
