Les dones de la Trinitat by Udatxo

created for the NOU Sentit Urbà project, discover all the murals here. Powered by Rebobinart.NOU is a project structured around different artistic disciplines that makes Barcelona and its residents stand out. A melting pot in Nou Barris where creativity gives shape to shared stories, redefining the space by giving it a new urban meaning. This work by Udane Juaristi pays tribute to the women who built Trinitat Nova, with special mention to Matilde Climent, a social worker who led community initiatives and neighborhood struggles in the 1960s and 1970s. The work celebrates the transformative role and empowerment of women in the neighborhood, showing a central figure representing all the women of the community, past and present. Her serene and satisfied face symbolizes the strength and well-being achieved through collective solidarity. At the bottom, the presence of protesting women and blooming flowers evokes the growth of a neighborhood that was born out of female commitment and perseverance.
