He was involved in a severe accident as a child and ended up in ICU. Sir Tom visited him in hospital and this has stayed with him for obvious reasons. Sir Tom is a figure in Preston who made a massive impact not only in his field of chosen sport but also for the good of the town's community. To honour him in our building is a no-brainer.
