This station was inaugurated by the Royal Portuguese Railway Company on October 18, 1885.The station housed a beautiful building, one of Coimbra's landmarks. It features elements of iron architecture, combining regionalist and modernist styles. With a façade marked by a central stone section with three symmetrical doors and a large clock, the interior features details in plaster, glass, and iron.
