History of Rakaia by JBFX

Depicting the history of Rakaia, the artwork first begins from its establishment as a town, with the steam trains depicted at the railway station. From then until the present day, the town continued to thrive as a rich farming area. Towards the right, the beautiful landscape and the Rakaia Bridge is portrayed as a representation of a tourism gateway, with the vast mountain ranges in the background. The artwork was commissioned by the Rakaia Beautification & Identification Committee, and was designed in a more traditional style to help the artwork fit into the town's streetscape.
