Square by Tomislav Topic

For the first time, two walls were designed as a single collaborative artwork, and for the first time a classical oil painting served as the template. The basis for this was Topić’s two works ‘Stories & Tales’ (2018), which he digitally broke down into squares and rectangles and reassembled as a collage. The façades of the two blocks of flats in Benjamin-Franklin-Village each cover 140 square metres and feature predominantly shades of blue with accents of orange, yellow and violet. Topić, who has a background in graffiti and colour theory and also works with film, installation, graphic design and painting, regards colour as a central means of expression in his work. It was painted in 2019 in Cooperation withhttps://www.stadt-wand-kunst.de/mural-galerie-2024/
