Untitled by Jim Vision, Thisone

The colourful mural to the right of the gates leading into the grounds of The Old Truman Brewery on Buxton Street, opposite Code Street, is the result of a collaboration between ThisOne and Jim Vision. At the centre is the realistically painted face of a woman, surrounded by dynamic, almost psychedelic patterns and lettering. This is the recognisable work of the Welsh muralist and illustrator Jim Vision – he is also the driving force behind End of the Line, a collective that has been organising large-scale street art projects and events in London for over twenty years. The purple lotus flower and the highly detailed, hairy jumping spider in the foreground are the signature of ThisOne, the Yorkshire-born artist who has been active on the London scene since 2013. He usually works predominantly in black and white, but here he adds vibrant colours that complement the portrait.ThisOne describes the day he spent working on this artwork with Jim Vision as: “Robin Williams – Angel, random nutters, weird weather, beers, gallery offers and a French bloke”
